Owner of Utah Real Estate Professionals, near Smith's Ballpark, reports his business has been adversely affected by the nearby homeless encampment. He has seen residents of the camp shoot up on his doorstep and use his property as a toilet.
This morning, I arrived at work to find the latest encampment near my facility. I took these photos from a distance. They started Flipping me off and calling me every word that can't be used here. The person sitting closest to my facility was very confrontational. It felt very unsafe. A few of the individuals got up and started to walk toward me then veered off across main street when they got close. Yelling at me the entire time.
I also found human waste on the north side of the facility. I contacted 911 but changed to request to non emergency after most of the group crossed the stree.
It is hard for me to understand how the city is allowing main streets to have these issues. THE FACT THAT I HAVE TO LOCK OUR FRONT DOORS AND TELL MY STAFF TO STAY INSIDE IS RIDICULOUS.
